Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Sea.... But Not When it's Too Hot!

On Wednesday we finally managed our day trip down to Hastings on the South

Coast. The good weather here in the U.K is still with us, and it plans on
staying with us as the predictions are good for this coming week. Today in
London should reach a high of 32c. And this surely must be one of our best
Summers for a long time.  Although understandably not everyone likes the heat.
Not that I keep records but I think we must be into a sixth week of this warm
period.

I'm hoping to post up some more images of Hastings very soon.

Of course our sympathies must go out to everyone in Spain and Portugal where
temperatures will hit an all time European record of 48c, something we Brits
on our holidays are not quite used to. I think if I was out there in Spain, I wouldn't
hesitate to return back home to the U.K.

BRITS FACE LETHAL HEAT - DAILY STAR

  1. It is of great concern that you Brits are experiencing such high temperatures. While we may remark on such temperatures, we travel from home with aircon, to public transport or cars with aircon to workplaces shopping centres or shops with air con, and social gathering places with air con. I never in my wildest dreams imagined that Boris buses weren't air conditioned. Budapest is one step ahead of London, and I expect many other Euro cities are a step ahead with air con for public transport.

    1. Andrew, I had never really experienced Air-Con until I first travelled to the U.S. I always remember how the City heat would hit you everytime you walked out of the Hotel or a Store.

I think some of our newer more recent buses have slightly improved with ventilation. But oddly enough our Great Western trains to Cornwall were always slightly over air-conned. We often had to put on an extra shirt or light top to combat the cold draft. And last year my partner had a moan to the train staff when he complained about it.
Ironically he had a bit of a long running episode with GWR when trying to order our tickets this year for our trip next month. And amazingly they caved in and gave us two complimentary First Class tickets. So looking forward to being on the brand new train.
But you'd think that Air-Con must surely be on it's way soon to homes offices and shops if we're to believe that things are hotting up.
