All Things Vintage.

Here's an interesting tumblr who's archives go all the way back to 2010.
And it's always interesting to see tumblrs with a bit of staying power and
longevity. And this one is called Teenage Dirt Stache.
Some of the images on it's pages are quite familiar and have almost become
iconic. And the owner of the tumblr clearly has quite a thing for fashion
magazine images from the 1980's as well as the 1990's.
Clearly a lot of work has gone into creating hundreds of scans from
vintage magazines from the days when fashion houses like Gucci, Armani,
Versace and Roberto Cavalli dominated the more upmarket fashion scene.

One or two of the models look familiar to me as their faces are still getting
about on tumblr.
Further down below are a few images of Steven Meisel's muse Sean Bohary
as well as a couple of familiar faces from those controversial Calvin Klein
promotion images.

Sadly our almost legendary Vintage Magazine Store in Soho has finally
closed down as I only discovered earlier on this year. But I did find an excellent
source of vintage film and fashion magazines in Notting Hill Gate which I hope
to be visiting again soon.

For a link to the archive images and that rather excellent looking model in the
top image, click on here at TEENAGE DIRT STACHE TUMBLR

  2. Neil, what a shame all your tumblrs got nuked this week. Not sure if you're
going to start up again. Cant believe they're going to zap all the porn images
on tumblr, or at least attempt to.
I wonder what Verizon has got to do with it. I thought Yahoo took it over.

  3. Do not usually like tumblr sites as they are without any conversing. Not all blogs actually have a cogent provider but only allow comments, a sort of commentary / conversing. TO THE POINT ---> But, if xxx sites get an allowing on-line, what is left but to copy the non-copyright material of them ? Or, what of what they allow us to take for free and then put online elsewise, what is the problem ? IF THEN xxx THUSLY, then, why not xxx LATER, OTHERWISE ? Figure there is a money mix at first. Then, figure there is preference....

    1. Conversations happen out of sight. I have a few tumblr bloggers I have prodded into talking. Trumblr is a visual community comprised mostly of millennial's. Monosyllabic easily distracted by puppies and shinny objects. With patients (and not become annoyed when waiting for a long time) you can find a warm body at the helm. They don't expect conversations with someone not looking for pictures of their privates. Chat requests are not monitored much. I recently found a group of Japanese voice actors. I queried them a few times and a member perused my blog. Like sugar ants on a picnic I was inundated with questions. Now I get Trump questions. I hope to receive questions on phonics or double meanings. Not Comrade Cheetolino.
