St Ives..... Beautiful Aerial Drone Footage.

Drone technology has really enhanced video photography. It gives us a whole new perspective
on beautiful places that we love to see, places that we only used to see at ground level. And so here
we see some amazing aerial views of St Ives in West Cornwall, all captured by West Country local
Duncan Scobie.
Filmed last Summer in 2019,  he was probably controlling his drone from the headland around Carbis
Bay overlooking Carbis Bay Beach with some great views of the adjoining St Ives Harbour Beach and
the Island, although sadly no views of the majestic Porthmeor Beach behind the Island as video drones
clearly have their distance limits.

Sadly the County of Cornwall took quite a hit in high levels of coronavirus and locals were
understandably angry that once the Lockdown was announced it caused a great exodus by
 over 50,000 second home owners
keen to get out of London and other big cities to the supposed
safety of Cornwall.
Even top tv chef
Gordon Ramsay faced hostility from his neighbours when he moved his family down
to the North Cornish coast
to see out the rest of the lockdown, although he claimed that he drove
down there before the lockdown
was announced.

As it stands now the Cornish tourism industry is under huge pressure to open for July and August
bookings or it's believed that eight out of ten businesses will go under.

Above is a rather clean shaven BBC tv weatherman Ben Rich from a couple of years
ago around the time that another pandemic broke out at the BBC when nearly all
it's male tv news and
weather presenters grew beards. The trend seemed so rampant, it was almost as if some
of them didn't want to feel left out.

Anyway, in the image above Ben is telling us about a rare day indeed when cloud
shrouded the whole of Great Britain but the sun shone only on West Cornwall on that given day.
