The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Approaching plus Early Summer in Regent's Park

With the recent arrival of our British Summer, London saw it's first really warm weekend.
So I thought I'd head off and look around Regent's Park. And on the way in to the Park
I had a brief look in at the nearby Regent's Canal, something I'm hoping to explore very soon,
hopefully to walk up the Canal path all the way to Camden Lock.

Approaching the week after next are two special Bank Holidays, Thurs 2nd June
is Coronation Day. And on Friday is The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration Day.
Party's, Concerts and various events will be taking place around the country.
I'm hoping myself to attend some local celebrations here in North London and hopefully
I'll get some pictures for these pages. It doesn't seem like 10 years ago that we celebrated
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Above: Design student Edward Roberts was the winner of the logo design for
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The competition was run by The Victoria & Albert Museum.
More can be read on that story at The People.

Above: The Boathouse Regent's Park.

Above is the BT Tower, originally called the Post Office Tower. It's
construction started in 1961 and it was completed by 1964.
The Tower is visible from most locations in Regent's Park.

Looks like our Summer has really started even though it reached around 24c/25c.

Above is the grand mansion The Holme which sits by the Boat Lake. Built in the 19th century
and part of John Nash's layout. The house is now owned by an Arab consortium.

A grand row of houses in the Outer Circle and close to the
entrance of Regent's Park. They sit
almost behind Baker Street.

Above is Queen Mary's Gardens which features The Rose Gardens.

Below: The Jubilee Gates, the entrance to Queen Mary's Gardens as well as The Japanese
Water Garden.

The Waterfall in the Japanese Water Garden. I did make another video of the Falls
but I wasn't too thrilled with the outcome. It really needed the steadiness of a camera tripod
on that occasion.

Below: A few shots of the Regent Canal. And one or two Canal Party boats passed by while I was there.
