On The Hunt for a Vintage Oil Lamp

During early November I went on a hunt on e-bay in  search for a vintage Oil Lamp,
preferably one that had been electrically converted. Eventually I committed to this
rather attractive looking vintage lamp, although I wasn't too happy with the white
bright glass lamp shade.
I really wanted one with a glass green shade like you'll see on a traditional Bankers
Lamp. They surprisingly give off a much warmer glow, as you can see below.
So after several weeks I finally found a glass green shade and received it just last week.

Of course when the Lamp arrived last month it looked quite rusty and dirty, but after
a bit of metal polishing I was shocked to see it come up gold.
I'm not sure of the age of the lamp. Apparently it has to be over 100 years old to be
called an antique, anything less and it's described as vintage.
At the start of The Victorian period most homes were lit by either candle or oil lamps
and by the late 1930's they slowly faded out in time for the birth of the National Grid.
