The Beachside Plant Container All Lit Up

My newly made Beachside plant container looks a treat all lit up in the evening.

There's even a flashing light in the lighthouse.

Creating Another Beachside Plant Container

With the worst of the Winter out of the way and a January I won't easily forget,

I thought I'd cheer up the room with a new seaside plant container. I couldn't quite

find the right colour container so I bought a dull grey one, sanded it down and painted

it in a cheery seaside light blue.

Of course the few plants in it are artificial so no watering needed.

Making Something For Almost Nothing....My Antique Bouillotte Lamp Updated

Sometimes I can't believe how I manage to knock up and create something for almost

nothing, like this Federal French style Bouillotte lamp which I put together back in 2022.

And in this top picture above you can see that I've updated it a little by placing over the

three candlesticks, which are actually three cut up bits from a wooden broomstick, and

I've placed over them three wider cut up bits from a length of white plastic one inch

plumbing piping.

And to update and highlight the black lampshade I've attached some brass eagles that I

ordered through a company using e-bay that sells U.S Presidential paraphernalia.

And yet when you look around on e-bay for these classic style Bouillotte lamps, you

can expect to pay up to £3,000 pounds or over. After all the style of these antique

artifacts date back to the French Royal period of  Louis XV. But I believe that I've

managed to put together this home made one for at least under £30:00.

A Crafty Lighthouse

Here's something I put together with my box of tools yesterday on Monday afternoon.

It's a wooden model lighthouse that I bought while down in Cornwall during that late Summer

visit.

There was a similar one in the cottage we stayed in, so I hunted one down in one of the local

tourist gift shops. And I was sure that I could make it into something else. And so I turned it into

a lamp, and it now sits by the fireplace.

That big late Summer Holiday in Cornwall follows this post, for any of our hardened visitors

that have bypassed it.

A New Building Project.....A Homemade Cassette Deck.

Well, as I still have a large collection of audio cassettes featuring home recordings as

well as many vintage Radio shows, I thought I'd order a new cassette player and create a

cassette deck so as to be able to enjoy all my old tapes, some of which I haven't heard in a while.

And they certainly sound a lot better having upgraded to a 10 watt speaker which gives a much better

sound.

And it was all put together very recently during a 2 week window while pondering what

to do with my other blog.

as well as a panel board from an old Radio.

But before all that is fitted in, the box frame was sanded down and then covered in a dark

woody sticky fablon material.
